Deer Lake Regional Airport was built in the 1950s in an area formerly known as Junction Brook, just east of the Town of Deer Lake, between the Trans-Canada Highway and the Humber River. Since the early years, it has adapted and grown to meet the needs of the business community and people of Western Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Deer Lake Airport is a public use, land airport and operates day and night (24 hours/day, 7 days/week) using both Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). The Deer Lake Airport has one paved runway 07/25 at 2440 meters (8005 feet) long and 45.7 meters (150 feet) wide, has two taxiways (Alpha & Bravo) and two aprons ...

The normal hours of operation for Deer Lake Regional Airport are 5:00am – 1:00am (local time) daily. Services are also available for non-scheduled aircraft with 2 hours prior notice. A winter maintenance program is in effect from 5:00am – 1:00am (local time), commencing November 15 and ending March 31 each year.
