Cynthia Aguilar Villar (Tagalog pronunciation:, born Cynthia Ampaya Aguilar on July 29, 1950) [1] is a Filipina politician currently serving as a Senator of the Philippines. She was a member of the House of Representatives for the Lone District of Las Piñas from 2001 to 2010 before winning a seat in the Senate in 2013, placing tenth.

In the 2019 National Elections, Cynthia Villar run and won anew as senator. She was proclaimed as the Number One Senator having garnered a total of 25,283,727 votes, which is unprecedented for a senatorial post in the country.

2024年6月2日 · Senator Cynthia Villar has disclosed she plans to retire from national politics and return to the local level, eyeing once more a seat at the Lower House as Las Piñas City representative or as Las Piñas City mayor.

Senator Villar is the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food as well as the Senate Committee on Government Corporations and Public Enterprises.
