CHEK1 - Wikipedia
Checkpoint kinases (Chks) are protein kinases that are involved in cell cycle control. Two checkpoint kinase subtypes have been identified, Chk1 and Chk2. Chk1 is a central component of genome surveillance pathways and is a key regulator of the cell cycle and cell survival.
Roles of Chk1 in Cell Biology and Cancer Therapy - PMC
DNA damage induces activation of Chk1, which then transduces the checkpoint signal and facilitates cell cycle arrest and DNA damage repair. Significant progress has been made recently towards our understanding of Chk1 regulation and its implications in cancer etiology and therapy.
Functions and inhibitors of CHK1 in cancer therapy
2024年6月1日 · CHK1 plays a crucial role in cancer biology as it modulates cell cycle checkpoint activation and DNA repair. Furthermore, a number of other cellular functions of CHK1 are also gradually discovered.
Checkpoint kinase 1 in DNA damage response and cell cycle regulation
Originally identified as a mediator of DNA damage response (DDR), checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1) has a broader role in checkpoint activation in DDR and normal cell cycle regulation. Chk1 activation involves phosphorylation at conserved sites.

2024年12月24日 · CHEK1 (Checkpoint Kinase 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CHEK1 include Oocyte/Zygote/Embryo Maturation Arrest 21 and Lynch Syndrome 2. Among its related pathways are HDR through Homologous Recombination (HRR) or Single Strand Annealing (SSA) and Regulation of activated PAK-2p34 by proteasome mediated degradation.
New Insights into Checkpoint Kinase 1 (Chk1) in the DNA Damage …
Chk1 activation via ATR plays a dominant role in response to replication stresses (the replication checkpoint). Chk1 is also required for amplification of DSB-initiated Cdc25A signaling mediated by ATM/Chk2. Moreover, Chk1 directly phosphorylates essential S-phase kinases (Cdc7 and Tlk1).
Reality CHEK: Understanding the biology and clinical potential of CHK1
2021年1月28日 · Originally identified as a regulator of the G2/M checkpoint, CHK1 has since been shown to play important roles in DNA replication, mitotic progression, DNA repair, and overall cell cycle regulation. However, the potential of CHK1 as …
Checkpoint kinase 1 is essential for normal B cell development and ...
2017年11月22日 · Despite its essential function, CHK1 has been identified as a target to kill cancer cells and studies using Chk1 haploinsufficient mice initially suggested a role as tumor suppressor. Here, we...
ATR/CHK1 inhibitors and cancer therapy - PubMed
Here, we review the status of the development of ATR and CHK1 inhibitors. We also discuss the potential mechanisms by which ATR and CHK1 inhibition induces cell killing in the presence or absence of exogenous DNA damaging agents, such as RT and chemotherapeutic agents.
