Catholic holy days of obligation are the days on which we’re expected to go to Mass. This list includes every single Sunday, along with a few additional days. Some feasts, such as Easter, are always celebrated on a Sunday, so they are always obligatory.

Before you schedule any formal dates for Sacraments, sacramentals, or blessings, you need to speak with a priest. Many of these require specific preparation. Father Joseph P. Machebeuf celebrated the first Mass on Christmas eve of 1860. In 1868, Father Machebeuf was appointed as bishop of Colorado and St. Mary’s became the Cathedral. In 1890, Bishop Nicholas C. Matz built a brick and sandstone building at 1842 Logan Street.
