Smoke plumes reflect smoke anywhere in the atmosphere, not necessarily near the ground. As such, they may not be associated with bad air quality. Due to a large number of features, you may need to zoom farther in to see certain Fire Information layers of the map. This map shows fine particle pollution (PM2.5) from wildfires and other sources.

The Fire and Smoke Map displays information on ground level air quality monitors recording fine particulates (PM 2.5) from smoke and other sources, as well as information on fires, smoke plume locations, and special statements about smoke issued by various sources.
