The archive gives you a completely portable version of Blender which you put and run anywhere (even a USB drive) without any installation. 2016年4月18日 · Blender is for the most part backwards compatible, that means files created with previous versions will generally open problem free in future versions. Apart from major version jumps (like from 2.4# series to 2.5 or like the future 2.7# series to 2.8) Blender should open files created in older versions without any problems.

I am considering uninstalling everything and trying again but I have several projects on the current blender and I can't risk loosing them; Can anyone help explain to me what steps I can take to safely install and apply the latest version of blender. In a best case scenario that will not only roll back any updated versions of the bundled addons, it will also override any new presets, builtin Python scripts, system files, UI markup scripts and bundled Python versions along with your personal configuration, essentially rolling Blender back to the previous installed version.
