I'm looking for a cheap (<$150) solution to store around 20,000+ rnds in the factory ammo boxes they came in(not interested in dumping them loosely into ammo cans at this time). I would like to be able to seal the storage unit up a bit so I can control humidity via a dry rod and some reusable desiccant packs.

I kinda did the same thing with my 10 gun stackon.I took some small galvanized hardware store 90 angle and used 1/4 in. steel pop rivets to hold the plywood shelves in it.been working good for a long time now.

2013年12月28日 · So I am looking to convert a stack-on safety cabinet into an ammo storage cabinet in order to make room in the Liberty for more toys. I am looking for any constructive input/suggestions to help make this go smoothly.

I know the stock answer here is "Ammo Cans" but that's not really the kind of answer I am looking for. I currently have all of my ammo in a rubbermaid type storage bin in a closet that actually has a big, deep pull out drawer. It's definitely loaded beyond the recommended weight (even with all my clay/target shotshells loaded in a few ammo cans).

2015年3月29日 · I did a search for ammo storage but couldn't find any previous threads regarding fire prevention and ammo. I have my ammo in the bottom of one of my wooden cabinets, I'm wanting to move it into some sort of safer container in case of fire, don't want anyone injured trying to put out a fire, I've also seen where firemen won't go near a fire with ammo exploding ( can't blame them ) and the house ...

For regular access items I use .30 and .50 cans. Easy to move, easy to carry, and water/ air tight. For long term storage and stockpile items I use 40mm cans.

They will not maintain its integrity to a pressure where the speed of detonation or blast radius would be defined as an "explosion". I have an explosives storage magazine that was designed to BATFE specifications when I used to be licensed to manufacture low explosives.

To answer your question Scoop . The locations are homes that have the heat turned off while not occupied. The ammo is protected from the elements but get cold and hot as the outside temp changes. Since these homes are used as cottages, they are mostly occupied during the summer. The ammo does not get above 80 F. but gets cold as 0 F.
