Jun 25, 2013 · As I have understood it, Warp (1) speed = 1x Speed of Light (SoL), i.e. ~300.000 km/s. However, in ST:VOY, they are hurled 70.000 LY from Earth, which will take 70 years to travel at Warp 9, i.e. Warp 9 = 1000x SoL. That makes no sense to me. If Warp doubles for each full number (binary numbers), then Warp 10 would be 1024x SoL ~ 68 years journey.

Dec 18, 2014 · A more appropriate comparison with a tank (though a moderately armored one) is the AT-ST. That's the smaller two legged Walker. Like a tank it's faster, more maneuverable & cannot carry a large number of personnel. The on screen evidence suggests an Imperial ground assault features the AT-ATs while also being supported by AT-STs.

Remember that the Kelvin timeline has things happening about 7 years earlier: Kirk takes command of the Enterprise in 2258 (original timeline, 2265), so the first Kelvin timeline film happens two years after ST: Discovery. If you look at the Stardate system, it's different.
