Jul 31, 2018 · The grade is called “ASMR” which more or less translates into clinical/therapeutic improvement versus already existing alternatives, between level I (major improvement) and V (absence of medical improvement). The levels II to IV in-between relate to various levels of clinical improvements: important, moderate, minor.

ASMR IV: The price is based in an equivalence of treatment cost compared to the least expensive comparator. In some situations, a facial price can be granted. ASMR V: The cost savings must be achieved through a price lower than the price of the least expensive comparator in the considered indication (See Art. R. 163-5-I-2° FSSC).

On this period, we found usable data for 26 drugs: We have sorted the data by ASMR level and for each of them (ASMR III, IV and V) we have calculated the average price reductions and length of negotiations to determine if the level of ASMR has an impact on these parameters.
