I’m creating a new thread here because the project has been morphing quite a lot in the last few weeks and is no longer limited to hand tracking and NIS upscaling. Please try to keep this thread on topic.

Feb 12, 2025 · Like the title says… I’ve found a YouTuber (Ohne speed - using vr racing sims) that crated a mod for the Open XR toolkit allowing us to crop the images (both eyes). You might dislike an aggressive config but you can try a little tweak there …

Feb 15, 2025 · I load Openxr toolkit. I load MSFS24 up via my desktop using Steam. Once the game has loaded fully I put my headset on. I switch to VR mode with a button on my joystick. The view through the headset immediately goes black and the game CTD’s. I have tried all versions of the mod 1.3.5, 1.3.6, 1.3.7

Dec 1, 2024 · Strange, I think I’ve read in several places (including this very forum) that my original PimaxXR still outperformed Pimax’s own OpenXR implementation. Re: foveated rendering low improvements, my best guess is it means the heuristic to detect render passes just doesnt work well in 2024, leading to a low “VRS RTV”, see the last part of that post

Nov 5, 2022 · With OXR Toolkit version 1.2 my appCPU showed around 6 to 18 ms depending on aircraft/on the ground/airborne/PG etc. while my appGPU was between 28 to 40 ms. So clearly GPU bound. Checking in MSFS developer mode always ”limited by GPU” with the occasional CPU spike (like once every 30 sec or so). With version 1.2.1 I’m always CPU bound.
DLSS tweaks, openXR toolkit and performance in VR
Dec 5, 2024 · Pimax Crystal Light here. Here’s one good result method: All this in VR. In DLSS tweaks I suggest only touching presets. Set everything to F (see photo). We are going to use DLSS PERFORMANCE in VR. Performance is a 0.5 factor, so 50% of the native resolution. In this case we are going to play with OVERRIDE RESOLUTION in OpenXR toolkit.

This one for DCS: [Update 24/3 V0.6.1] OpenXR Quickstart Guide (For G2, G1 and other Headsets) - Virtual Reality - ED Forums; This is applicable to other games too, not sure which ones. It works-ish with OpenXR Toolkit, with certain games, and the menu is broken (release coming up tomorrow to fix that).

Feb 4, 2022 · A couple of days ago I installed the OpenXR Toolkit and have noticed a few things compared to the previous OpenXR NIS. The first is that I get the same quality using NIS or FSR, but with FSR I get 2-4 fps more. The sharpness option doesn’t seem to affect anything, it doesn’t matter if I set it to 0 or 100, I don’t notice any difference.

Sep 22, 2022 · IMHO I have always understood this “TAA 100%” expression (and used it myself) as a shorthand for “Antialiasing: TAA; Render Scaling: 100%”. With introduction of fabulous OpenXR Toolkit this also helps to clearly say what scaling you ar talking about: i.e. if you say “TAA 85%” vs “OXR 85%” - everyone understands what you’re talking about.
