2021年9月7日 · Decent, on the other hand, with plastic, cheap materials to handle high pressure, high temperature in espresso making, doesn’t seem to be a high quality solution technically. It’s not too accessible at $3-4k either.

My current Decent makes awesome espresso I really don't think I'm missing out on anything life changing. The machine is a refinement of the current Decent for sure, but diminishing returns have really kicked in. I still am sad about the half-decent scale going the way it did, i'd love to have picked that up.

2023年6月3日 · As for older machine values; used V1.0 machines are still selling for insane amounts of money (>$2k for a machine that was originally ~$3k). So far improvements on new versions haven't really destroyed the used market for Decent espresso machines yet even between the V1.0 and V1.44.

Now, before purchasing I did read that the Decent was only for users who really wanted to get involved in their espresso making, but I didn't take this entirely to heart.

I'm trying to avoid the 'always get the top of the range' impulse and am considering the DE1+ seriously. On the other hand, if I make a minimum of four shots a day, then add backflushes, sink shots, whatever, the 10 shot/day indication gets really close.

Meticulous won't disappoint as it's a proven product and many reviewers and coffee experts have seen it live. It's value for money for the features it's providing. Go for the Meticulous or Flair 58+ if you like manual.
