Is it really possible and effective to put a “sleeve anchor” into wood? I plan on hanging something from the ceiling, from the wooden joist.

2021年6月22日 · The 5 1/2" length anchor sounds good (1 1/2" ledger + 4" embedment) but that leaves 0 for the nut and bolt and thread since the anchors are measured in length end to end.

2010年12月31日 · The best way is drill out the hole to accept the proper ¼’’ expansion anchor. We have used sleeve anchors in the past and had nothing but problems with them. Once you install that anchor into concrete you will never be called back to fix a lose railing or hand rail again unless someone damages your installation.

2011年7月6日 · As you tighten, the sleeve expands to solidly anchor in the concrete since it is 4-5" deep in the concrete. Then I drilled through the angle brace and upright support and secured with a 1/4" stainless steel bolt.

2020年11月4日 · The Fischer sleeve anchors I have and that are already installed in the other 4 holes are 10mm x 77mm that need a minimum of 90mm deep hole and I won't be able to meet that spec with the problem hole. So now my plan is to use a shorter 10mm Fischer sleeve anchor (10mm x 50mm) that needs a drill depth of 60mm. That is the shortest 50mm I can find.
