Rustoleum Primer-Yes or No | The H.A.M.B. - The Jalopy Journal
2012年5月20日 · FWIW, I'll weigh in with the long term results. I originally took this spare '36 fender down to bare metal and primed it with 'Rust'oleum in the early 60's. Has been in dry storage ever since. Recently decided to repair it but was curious to see how it had faired for moisture absorption after reading a previous thread on the subject.

2016年5月29日 · I've used Krylon Rust Tough in semi gloss black with great results. It takes 24 hours to dry but stands up very well on frames and suspension stuff. I've been using Rustoleum lately 'cause I have to drive farther to get Krylon, seems like they both work about the same, but Krylon touches up better.
Rustoleum primer; other brand topcoat; are they compatible????
2012年3月27日 · Rustoleum is an oil based enamel. Lacquer will eat it. Krylon has a rust type paint as well and is also oil based. I just had a guy bring me bike fairings that he painted with krylon rust paint as a primer and used duplicolor over it for a color coat and they did not like each other. Didn't dry either.
Painted my car with rustoleum | The H.A.M.B. - The Jalopy Journal
2009年10月25日 · The use of inexpensive paint is a personal choice. It allows a guy to put a finished paint job on his car without incurring the national debt! Rust-oleum can be repainted or painted over, but for compatability it needs to be rust-oleum, ( you may be able to use another brand of oil-based enamel, but why risk peeling issues/incompatability)?
How to "flatten" gloss Rustoleum paint? | The H.A.M.B. - The …
2010年7月25日 · Up here in Canada Rustoleum is sold as Tremclad Rust Paint. I want to flatten their dark blue paint that only comes in gloss. Does anyone here know what flattening agent I should use. I sent an email to Tremclad regarding this (they do sell some "flat" paint, just not the colour I need) and they suggested I contact a body/paint shop.

2018年1月1日 · I really like the Painter's Touch spray-bomb primer (it actually seals too, preventing rust under the paint) but you do have to pay attention to the re-coat window. How long will it take to dry? My experience is you need temps in the 70s for about a week before attempting a recoat if you miss the window, and at least 4-5 days before sanding.

2020年6月16日 · My mother painted a steel lawn chair around 1960 that had serious surface rust all over it. Prep was she washed it.... Two brushed-on coats of black Rustoleum and that chair became a household fixture, finally just being thrown away, not because it had deteriorated, but because on a sunny day it got so hot you couldn't sit on it.
Clear Coat Rustoleum | The H.A.M.B. - The Jalopy Journal
2009年7月20日 · Hey, I'm bettin' you, or your painter shot the colour coat, wet, and probably two coats at that ! Rustoleum is an alkyd enamel based finish that dries from solvent evaporation and oxidization.
Technical - Rustoleum vs Krylon | The H.A.M.B. - The Jalopy Journal
2019年1月5日 · I feel like Ace brand paint is actually Rust-Oleum, but I don't have any evidence to back that up. Or at least I used to think that, until the last time I bought some it looked like a Krylon cap instead. Paint seemed the same, though. Maybe they have their own formula and different companies just can it for them?

2019年7月31日 · I went to my local menards, they are the only place in my town than can mix rust oleum. They have a very limited custom color chart and I don't know if I would trust an 18 year old kid in the paint department to mix the color I want.
