2025年1月2日 · Oshino Hakkai is an attraction in the Mount Fuji region made up of eight spring water ponds full of natural snow melted water that has dripped down from Mount Fuji. Since its natural occurrence more than 80 years ago, it’s now been filtered to be completely pristine clear and is considered sacred by many.

Iyashi no Sato (いやしの里) stands on the site of a former farming village on the western shores of Lake Saiko. The village was destroyed by a landslide during a typhoon in 1966.

Oshino Hakkai, literally “eight seas” in Japanese, is a set of eight ponds in the small village of Oshino in the Fuji Five Lakes region. Situated between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako, Oshino Hakkai was the site of a sixth lake that dried out many centuries ago.

Oshinohakkai means: Oshino village springs, possessing 8 ponds. It is one of the places where pilgrims go to Mount Fuji, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of "Fujisan, a sacred place and source of artistic inspiration".

Located at the foot of Mount Fuji, Oshino Hakkai is a small village very popular with Japanese people. Developed to highlight local crafts, this thatched village is actually the 6th lake in the region!
