The Boeing 737 MAX is the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, a narrow-body airliner manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It succeeds the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) and competes with the Airbus A320neo family.

American Airlines added the Boeing 737 MAX 8 to their fleet in 2017. The aircraft is configured with First Class, Main Cabin Extra, and Main Cabin seating. Main Cabin Extra is a standard Main Cabin Economy Class-style seat with additional legroom.
