Jun 22, 2023 · Hello, I recently got my hands on a zippo lighter, the issue is, I live abroad and i cannot order zippo lighter fluid domestically because flights do not allow explosive or flammable material, aka lighter fluid, so what can i use as fuel that is as good, if not better, than zippo lighter fluid that is commonly available in basically every country?

Sep 13, 2022 · Some fluid lighters (not Zippo brand ones) evaporate less because they have a snuff cap instead of a large flip top. The wick, in all fluid lighters, is meant to evaporate fluid constantly, and if you put a small cap around it that shields it from the air surrounding it, it evaporates considerably less.

For me, Ronsonol feels essentially the same as the regular Zippo lighter fluid. The flame burns well and is quick to light (I've never experienced any problems, even minor, with the Zippo brand fluid). The bad news, however, is that the Zippo fluid feels identical to the Ronsonol counterpart.

Sep 29, 2021 · I might have been remembering it slightly wrong. Looking it up, I'm seeing more about people saying that Ronsonol changed after Zippo bought them. I would personally still use a solvent specifically intended for paints than lighter fluid. Zippo is naphtha based, but you can buy straight naphtha for cheaper than Zippo.

Apr 6, 2020 · If you're looking to save money, liquid Zippo type fuel is just plain old Naptha. You can buy a quart at most hardware and paint stores for about the same price as twelve ounces of Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid.

Sep 10, 2019 · Normal zippo gas dissipates. So it’ll be empty when you need it occasionally. The butane will always be ready. You’ll be able to light a million candles with it before needing to refill. But keep in mind a Bic lighter is like $2 at the gas station. There’s no reason to spend all of this money on a butane insert for the zippo.
