It looks like the \perp symbol except there are two rather than one vertical line. 2022年1月6日 · It's not so much a stylized representation of the kanji. But more so for the sound, since those who are not Japanese tend to pronounce it as "y-en". Thus the use of the "Y" with two lines through it. It's the same reason Yuan uses the same symbol.
