2021年9月14日 · An alternative would be to login at 10.0.0.1 and just turn off your wireless networks and let the XB7 be a wired router for your network. You’ll need to put your current router into Access Point mode, but this works if you have things set up for multigigabit wired networking and don’t want to use the XB7 for your router.

2022年6月9日 · If you do buy your own, make sure the modem is on the device compatibility list. In addition, I would recommend buying separate Modem and router. The router can be any brand you wish. By going this route, you have the advantage of being able to upgrade the router in the future when new features, bands, and protocols are released.

2021年6月17日 · The new Xb7 has well documented issues with slightly older printers, they don't work on the XB7 wirelessly, you can see some of the threads I linked about this issue below the images. The Xb6 router works just fine though before we upgraded, and people end up having to switch back to the Xb6. My printer is 7 years old, it should be compatible.

2025年1月13日 · I had to rent an Xfinity Gateway (I received an XB7 which is compatible with my 500mbps plan) last month. I installed it during the holidays and I had issues getting my google Wi-Fi router to work successfully, it would drop the connection every 10 mins; and yes I did configure the XB7 for bridged mode.

Right now, I cannot place the XB7 in bridge mode because the inbound connection from the ONU is sent over ethernet into the primary port of the XB7.
