2021年2月24日 · The protector itself doesn't have to be UL listed, but it has to conform to the stove manual in order for the stove to retain it's UL listing. So, if the manual calls for a type 1 floor protector of A by B dimensions, a A x B steel plate meets that requirement. It's not cheating.

2009年11月26日 · We have new hardwood floors in front of our stove, but the hearth extends a full 18" inches in front of the stove. No burn marks on the floor yet. In the past 3 years we have only had one log roll out (with the F400). Sometimes hot coals can spill when cleaning out ash, but so far they stay on the hearth.

With respect to the R-value they say that if the stove is UL listed then I need to follow the manufacturers recommendations.

2012年10月15日 · The stove will heat the floor beyond the hearth to more than 100F. This is safe but will expand the tile (not sure about the glue). We had a fellow here a few years back that installed a vinyl floating floor in a new space for a new stove but didn't follow directions and took it right to the wall with no expansion gap.

2015年9月6日 · We have a HiFlame (Model HF-905U) wood burning stove and be installing it in a porch with a 3/4" treated plywood floor with 10" of insulation under it. We know we're ok with the wall clearances, but.... For the floor protection, our "tile guy" stated we could use 1/4" Hardi Backer with a 1/4" stone tile on top of it.
