The "wonder pot" is a type of stovetop bakeware that seems to have been popular in Israel during a period of austerity. I'm looking for a (preferably USA based) supplier for a new one. Here's a link to a page with a photo of the item in question.
Why does my Wonder Pot now bake unevenly? - Seasoned Advice
I've been using a Wonder Pot for a year and a half, mainly making cake and the occasional bread. Recently my cakes have started baking unevenly, with one half of the pot completing the baking before the other half. I usually end up turning the pot 180 degrees when it is a little more than half done, in order to evenly bake.

2017年4月13日 · I asked a question about a "Wonder Pot" a bit ago, and this item came up on a search. I don't think it's a wonder pot though. The center hole is effectively much smaller, and there are not any vents in the lid. There isn't a "flame tamer" either, although this part may be lost.

2015年9月7日 · If you buy a pot pie at the store, the cooking instructions say to fold a strip of tinfoil around the edge before putting it in the oven. I've seen what happens if I forget to do this: the edge gets all burned. Apparently the foil helps keep some of the heat off.

2016年10月22日 · There is a heat diffuser, which apparently comes in different sizes to match the burner, and which funnels heat up through a cooking/baking chamber that looks a little like a bundt pan, and a lid. According to Wikipedia, “A Wonder Pot can be used to bake cakes, casseroles, rice, potatoes, apples, meat, and chicken.” It's available online.

2018年4月7日 · It's generally better just to have a flat disk, rather than to try to use an ill-fitting lid with curved edges or something designed for a different pot. The key is just having a disk-shaped lid at least as big as the pot. The only time you'll get significant moisture loss is if you try to use an ill-fitted lid designed for a smaller pot.
Water repellent-like residue on pot when cooking vegetables
2019年1月5日 · When I boil vegetables including broccoli the pot gets a water repellent-like residue at the water line that is very hard to remove. There is also residue similar to when cooking beans on the sides of the pots. This is in decent, newer stainless pots including the instant pot. My mother's older stainless pots don't seem to have this problem.

2011年3月30日 · For my stove, the largest ring actually has two rings - so even if I turn the gas up, the inner ring will stay in the middle (the outer ring does tend to grow and sometimes go outside of the pot). Given that design, I would imagine that yes, if you turn your gas up too much the flame will tend to heat up the outside of the pot.

I was actually making a lemon meringue pie the other day, and lost control of the lemon curd while heating it in a steel pot, so maybe this can help with that in the future. Thanks! –
