Wingo is a ghost town [2] located in Sonoma County, California in the United States. It can be found on older maps as a dot along the sloughs of Sonoma Creek, south of Sonoma and Schellville, and west of Buchli.

Wingo is Sonoma County’s own veritable “ghost town.” Built during the 19th-century Gold Rush era as a stop for steamships and later a railroad stop, it “died out,” one might say, under somewhat clouded circumstances. But several edifices still stand, albeit in silence.

2020年5月13日 · Wingo and its surrounding area has become a part of the Napa-Sonoma Marshes Wildlife Area that is approximately 15,200 acres of baylands, tidal sloughs and wetland habitat. It is overseen by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

A walk across the bridge offers a good look at the scattered buildings on the creek banks, and a stroll down the road gives a close-up view of the remaining wooden structures. Defying the ghost-town reputation, however, someone actually lives in Wingo, so don't go climbing through windows or forcing any doors.
