Fragrant scents of caramel corn, new leather, plums, light toffee and pipe tobacco. The palate tastes of marshmallow, salted almonds, nougat, figs and dates.

The bourbon was named after William Larue Weller (1825–1899), who was a distiller in the early days of Kentucky. He was supposedly the first to produce straight bourbon using wheat instead of rye in the mashbill. His wheated bourbon was first produced in 1849. [2]

Born in 1825, William Larue Weller was one of the early whiskey pioneers in Kentucky. After serving with the Louisville Brigade in the 1840’s, Weller returned to Louisville to open his wholesale liquor business.
