On a high end restoration, by all means go for the high $$ Coker or other real wide white wall but for a rat-rod or a fun car like my '53 pickup, these fit right into the theme.

I am now considering spray paint or a really high quality exterior latex paint. I am thinking that since latex is a type of rubber that it might work.

Buy skinny whitewalls, the take a sander and sand the black off around the white wall, be careful though, underneath the white there is more black. You can make your whitewalls about 2 inches or so wider by doing this.

2004年1月21日 · many tires have a layer of white built into side wall,I have had sucess with smoothing of lettering and actually cutting into the side wall for the wide white wall look using this method you can customize modern tires to your taste. There are also white tire specific paints available I think J.C. Whitney still carries them.
