2020年5月4日 · I had to cut the plunger within the solenoid off and install a fuel shut off valve to get mine to start and it has less than 100 hours. Tried doing all the logical stuff (plugs, filters, gas, carb) etc. It would only start when I hit it with starter fluid which I know is bad for the engine. Starts and runs like a new one now.

That is, nothing to break or stick that would prevent normal fuel flow. I see John Deere and Briggs have collaborated to make the solenoid part a secret, but they do make the gasket number available.

If this solenoid got sticky and quit working one time, do you think it is a possibility it may happen again in the future? Eliminating the pintle on the end of a solenoid does not make a person an “idiot”.

The only thing left is the fuel shutoff solenoid. Is there any way to test this solenoid. How do you test the magneto. Can not detect spark. Mower is John Deere Z225.

2017年5月10日 · With the PTO OFF, just like the brake switch you should have 12V on both white wires(I'm assuming both are white. I know at least the one going to the solenoid is white) If you do have voltage on both sides, and you do not have it right at the solenoid when you remove the white wire and measure, then the problem is the wire in between.
