weathered oak on #2 red oak flooring is gorgeous. taking pics tomorrow, a little delayed. Happy I didn't go with any of the gray floors. reason being, weathered oak pulls out so many colors including gray anyway.
Has anyone tried mixing in weathered oak to cool down red oak?

Each colour has been applied to Red and White Oak (they sit side-by-each). Chestnut has green in it. Provincial also has some green but it turns warm on Red Oak (snick more gold tones).

special walnut and Weathered oak stain on Red Oak! Advice - Houzz
I don’t have the combo you are looking for but one with classic grey included (1/3 mix). I made this when deciding to redo my floors. The colors are is vertical columns with number 1 in the upper left corner, #2 below, #5 starts the 2nd column. I hope this helps. We went with classic grey and weathered oak... 50/50, photo attached.
Duraseal stain suggestions for white oak in 2023 - Houzz
They are all very nice, but I personally prefer medium colors for floors. So from looking at the photo, I would choose Chestnut. Medium brown, coffee brown and dark walnut are very dark and will show dust and lint. Weathered Oak, special walnut and nutmeg look to be a bit light.

Here’s another residence where we used a different recipe (this was white oak flooring and didn’t require Red Out):-One coat DuraSeal Country White stain-One coat Bona NaturalSeal-Two coats Bona Traffic HD. This white oak flooring looks a little glazed over in white (in certain types of light). Still nice but just slightly less natural looking.
Anyone mix weathered oak with Early American stain on red oak
We did end up going with a 50/50 blend of Duraseal Weathered Oak and Early American on our Red Oak hardwoods. Our contactor uses Loba 2k and we upgraded to the Loba 2k AT waterbased poly in Satin sheen. We love the look and feel of the poly! We are happy with the stain. We like that it definitely cuts the orange and has lightened the floor.
