The wood will take on the shape of the foundation, so a flat foundation equals flat lumber, which is the objective. Walnut sawdust is not a good mulch or soil amendment. 2004年3月15日 · We sell walnut lumber to North Pacific. They have a steamer at Raymondville Mo. just east of Houston. Some people ( myself included) prefer the appearence of unsteamed walnut. I think the heartwood is richer colored and the white sapwood makes a nice contrast. If you are going to have lumber steamed, don't dry it first or it won't steam properly.
