The park provides perspectives of the Ke'anae Valley (a lower portion of the Ko'olau Gap in Haleakala's crater) and an overlook of Wailua Village. It's not a major attraction, but it's worth a stop for some great scenic views.

Wailua Valley State Wayside is a small park/lookout tucked into the cliffs a few miles past Keʻanae along the Road to Hana. A stop here will reveal sweeping views of Wailua Valley, the village below, and the whitecapped Pacific Ocean.

The Wailua Valley State Wayside is located along the Road to Hana about 31 miles east of Kahului Maui. You will find it located about halfway between the town of Wailua and the Upper Waikani Falls (another must-stop on the Road to Hana).

At the top of a set of stairs you will have a perfect ariel view of Wailua when facing the ocean, turn around and you can take a peek into the Wailua Valley. There is also a private road you can walk down to the left, but if you’d like a more dramatic close-up view of the Wailua Valley, check out the Wailua Valley Hike .
