2024年5月26日 · Under Sink Plumbing WTF Recently bought a house that has this setup under the kitchen sink. Garbage disposal flows into other side of the sink, which seems obvious when looking at the tee connecting the two sides.

2024年6月9日 · Can’t seem to get this lined up perfectly after new sink installed. Guy at HD says to use flex hose and everything online seems to recommend avoiding that stuff for the kitchen sink. All the under sink stuff seems standardized. Hoping to avoid having to cut the black 45 off the pipe coming from the wall. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this?

2024年5月27日 · When I run the machine, I notice it leaks a bit under the sink and more when the machine is not pulling water from the supply. I've also noted that my adapter does not lead to an airtight seal-there is a tiny bit of water that flows out where the adapter connects to the sink.

I have set glued PVC traps under Kitchen and Lavatory Sinks in the past - especially when installing Island Sinks - ABS pipe and fittings is slowly being banned here in the USA - can't buy the Pipe anymore at the Big Box Stores (but they carry fittings) and some Plumbing Supplies don't carry the ABS fittings anymore, even for Repairs.

Late last night, I discovered the floor of this cabinet had standing water, primarily below the piping here. The foam liner I had placed had dark mold on the bottom.

2023年10月5日 · If the sink is draining slowly it is probably a build up of hair and other stuff. If that’s the case I personally like using a shop vac to help clean it quickly. Get a plastic bag or something to cover the sink overflow and shop vac the drain, try to make it airtight around the shop vac so you can get a good pull.

2023年1月4日 · I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume there was actually a leak, and the "pipe" that was loose is probably just the drain assembly or p-trap under the sink, which was probably already loose from who knows what prior attempt to clean/fix the thing, but whatever it was it probably wasn't a big deal and couldn't be too hard to fix.

New home owner looking for advice under sink plumbing
I think it’s actually called a double cup strainer. Instead of that giant nut that secures the basket to the sink (which is hard to tighten without spinning the whole thing), it has a stainless steel cup underneath and a much smaller nut, the nut pushes the cup to the sink to tighten it up.
