Uakari (UK: / w ə ˈ k ɑːr i /, [2] US: / w ɑː-/) [3] is the common name for the New World monkeys from the genus Cacajao. Both the English and scientific names are believed to have originated from indigenous languages.

The bald uakari or bald-headed uakari (pronounced ‘wakari’) is one of four species of uakari, a small new world monkey, found only in the western Amazon in várzea forests of Brazil and Peru.

2008年7月21日 · Uakaris are predominantly arboreal quadrupeds, most frequently walking, running, clamber-running, leaping and bridging in the upper and middle-upper levels of the forest canopy (Walker 1996; Walker & Ayres 1996; Boubli 1997a; Barnett 2005). Less frequently, arm-swinging is used, and on rare occasions, bipedal movement is seen (Boubli 1997a).
