Jul 3, 2012 · If they tell you "no, you can't tow that" and you do it anyway, and there is an accident, or something breaks, then you can't sue because they told you not to do it. Remember, it is not all about being able to HAUL it, but to STOP it that is a big concern. Any time you add more weight to a tow, you increase the stopping distance of the entire rig.

Aug 20, 2018 · I used to own a huge-assed Ford. I couldn't rent a trailer from U-Haul to tow a Dodge Charger. They're ridiculous. If I ever have to rent from them again, as far as they know I'll be towing a 1980s VW Rabbit. Or a Yugo.

Mar 30, 2017 · I towed my '98 Taco from SoCal to Atlanta GA on a dolly. Used the dolly because I didn't want to pull the extra weight of a car trailer. Wired the taco's brake lights to the dolly. Disconnected the DS. Just a tip: I gave the Penske truck a tuneup before I left. Installed new plugs, and air cleaner element.

Aug 20, 2018 · For the tow dolly it looks like they are going by the weight of the vehicle you are towing. Even for a F250 super duty they don't recommend towing mid size cars with it. However, if you input something small like a MIata mentioned above they have no issue with it.

Mar 19, 2018 · The Tow Dolly does not have brakes and the combined weight of your Corolla and the dolly will probably be around 4,000 pounds. Generally speaking, any trailer over 3,500 pounds should have brakes, so not only would you be over using that guideline, think about trying to stop an extra 4,000 pounds with just your Tacoma brakes.

Aug 6, 2017 · U-haul has a system in place that factors the trucks towing capacity. Yes, there are ways around the system. And I’m not going to tell you how to do it. I will tell you, if what you are towing and the truck you are towing it with don’t match the contract. You’re 100% liable for any and all damages.
