If you use a cherry picker to lift the engine to install it to the engine stand you will sometimes find it hard to get a good balance on the engine.

2004年1月23日 · I just ordered a tube bender from VanSant and I'm debating how much to spend on a notcher. They can be had on ebay for about 40 bucks... Or VanSant has one for 170 bucks. VanSant claims superior rigidity on the bearing block with needle bearings and a G&P stainless shaft. Also more accuracy with their Vee block style of tube clamp.

2024年11月30日 · The bottom end of the tube was also dented pretty good where it would be shown below the 1940 firewall. As luck would have it, I had a 1932 column tube that the bottom 2/3 was perfect while the upper 1/3 was beat up so out of the two tubes I was able to make one nice, dent free tube.

2024年11月19日 · I use ultra gray almost exclusively. Usually on intake manifold china walls and oil pan corners. I had one instance of it not curing in the prescribed time. I had used an old previously opened tube on an oil pan and it took 3 days to cure but it did and the pan didn't leak. I only use a fresh tube on an engine build now.
