Im a staff and just got picked up for a training slot for tech school. The greatest problem with toxic leadership, imo, is there was never a definition/description of it in any of the 1-02s. It was a nebulous term for fucked up things leadership did. Now, anyone with APD can look it up and see if what their leadership is doing is counterproductive.

Toxic leaders are usually toxic people. It's a behavioral pattern just as much as a way of leadership. The ones I've known used a lot of anger and coercion to accomplish tasks. Most often when it's not remotely necessary. Toxic leaders fly under the radar for a long time because they appear to get results; mostly short term.
