Maybe the dream of another album is just to keep alive the idea of The Cure as a productive studio band as opposed to a touring act. If it's ever released that'll be it, it'll be the final Cure album for sure. It'll be the end of The Cure except as just a touring act recycling old material until Robert is shuffled off to a nursing home.

Speaking to NME ahead of last night’s NME Awards, Smith said the 10-song album is nearly finished, with the aim of releasing it as early as September. This will actually be the first Cure record I will preorder, I was 20 when 3:14 came out and I hadn’t fully developed my undying devotion to the band quite yet (enough to listen to all their post-Wish work). 2022年12月15日 · Even though they are older guys now, the album probably does need some songs that are faster than 50-80 BPM, to change up the feel on the album every now and then. I'm optimistic overall, as the new songs fit well alongside older ones on the tour, but am also being realistic, not expecting an album as good as those released from 1980-1992.
