You tap a maple tree to draw syrup from it. You tap a beer keg to draw beer from it. You tap a person to draw knowledge, expertise or services they have from them. In this case Wang, who is familiar with Fang due to their previous relationship, trusted him with the senior position in this new joint venture.

So a tap originally was the peg you put into the vent-hole in a cask. It changed to also be something you put into a keg to draw out the liquid, like a spigot. Hence tapping a keg, a maple tree, water taps, etc. To tap, means to put something into the hole of something.

What is a 1 tap So me and my friend are arguing and he is saying that a 1 tap HAS to the the first shot fired at them, i say that it can count if you are tapping at them not hitting then you hit then with 1 bullet and kill them, he says that this isn't a 1 tap.

It's attested as early as 1682 and defined in 1788 with the note "in allusion to a beer barrel" (see Green's 1b), though note those were really referring to taking a woman's virginity; the extension to general sexual intercourse occurred later.

Phrase on tap "ready for use, ready to be drawn and served" is recorded from late 15c. Tap-wrench, used in turning one, attested from 1815. tap (v.2) "to supply with a tap," late Old English tæppian, from source of tap (n.1); compare German zapfen "to tap." Meaning "to draw liquor with a tap" is from mid-15c.
