If any of you guys are familiar with these kits, please let me know what other items I will have to purchase that don't come with these. I have a complete rebuild kit, and will be upgrading the tranny with a reverse manual valve body along with some other stuff outlined in the Ron Sessions rebuild book. My rebuild kit came with a new front band, but no rear band.

2012年2月13日 · The TH400 is out of an '84 K30 and had a fig. 8 205 behind it (I don't have the 205 or adapter). The rebuild kit is new in the box, it's all still sealed up in the bags. The torque converter is new and is a stock replacement stall speed.

2007年9月10日 · The TH400 is stronger and simpler, the 700R4/4L60E has a better first gear ratio and has an overdrive. My vote goes to the TH400 since you have deep gearing in the t-case. As for helping at angles, a deep pan (with a deep pickup) helps a lot. You can also overfill the trans by a quart or so, but overfill it too much and :nuke

2009年8月15日 · Start with a good rebuild kit and a shift kit. The next weak link is the sprag clutch and its outer race like you noted. I bet in a 4x4 the next weak link is the case itself. You might look into a JW Ultra Bell and a good scatter shield.

2002年12月15日 · This is also why it is called variable pitch. As far as I've seen, it is a different pump, input gear, and torque converter as well as some wiring. No special bands, clutches, etc(ie regular TH400 parts from the input back). I can still do all the fun TH400 upgrades I want.
