What's the difference between that and the Castrol 5w-30 apart from the price of the 0W-30 which seems to be more expensive. 2020年10月27日 · Concerning temperature, a quick one to always have in mind is that a standard engine needs oil that flows well under the current weather conditions. A 0W or 5W is a pointer to how easily each oil will flow in winter, ( W stands for winter). A 5W oil thickens more than a 0W ( 0W is thinner). So, in Winter, 0W-30 will be the most suitable oil to use.

2023年8月21日 · I have a 67 plate 204ps T6 with ~60k on the clock. I've had it a couple of years and noticed early on that it uses a bit of oil. I've not kept tab of top ups but I'd say I'm probably adding half a litre every 4000 miles or so. Just happened to flag a low oil warning this weekend which suggests it may have started using a bit more than it used to.

2019年3月30日 · I have a Golf R too, when that's fully up to temp oil temp is 110-115 degrees. My T6 204 sits the same as other posters have said, from 98ish to 108. Hotter than I've previously been used to, but completely within spec for these vehicles.

2022年6月3日 · And it was within VW tolerance levels of oil usage, one litre per 621 miles, joke. The old consumption test was done manually, ie. They weigh the oil going in, then after 621 miles or before, if light comes on, they drop the remaining oil out and weigh it again, very unreliable way to do hence VW now do it via the engines management system.

2025年1月20日 · You can add oil from the top but I would stick to the correct way using the fill tube kit which is very straightforward as long as you get the vehicle high enough from the ground to work on - making sure the vehicle is level. The kits are available on Amazon. To avoid warranty problems I only use genuine VW oil and filters.
