The T-Birds are a group of teen boys who attend Rydell High School and rebel against social expectations, purposefully breaking the rules. They notoriously date the Pink Ladies. In the first film, they consist of Danny Zuko, Kenickie, Doody, Sonny, and Putzie.

In the summer of 1958, local boy Danny Zuko and vacationing Australian Sandy Olsson meet at the beach and fall in love. When the summer comes to an end, Sandy frets that they may never meet again, but Danny tells her that their love is "only the beginning".
