Oct 21, 2023 · I have a Source Audio C4 that would be able to do that and make it more synthy too. And BGroovy is right, it sounds like they are side-chain ducking. It's a technique to stop a heavy bass drum and guitar/synth from overloading the track - by reducing the bass level when the bass drum is hit - but it's also used as an effect in it's own right.

Dec 25, 2000 · Syb3 synths are not at all like the synth bass sounds described on the pyromania/hysteria albums. The DX7 sound was an attempt to mimimic an actual bass guitar sound. Also the seinfeld theme was done using one of those slap bass sample sounds, rather than an early digital FM synth. Both are completely different than what the OP is talking about.

Feb 26, 2000 · Well, back in the day I went that route only because the Roland Synth Bass Guitar systems were insanely expensive, plus the technology was just not quite there yet(and there was nothing pedal-wise). So, I settled on the Sequential Circuits monophonic Pro-One, lighter and not priced near what the Mini-Moog was going for.

I can get close enough to iconic MiniMoog bass synth sounds using my bass and a Korg G5...but if the musical line lends itself better to a keyboard than a bass guitar, no amount of signal processing is going to make the stringed instrument work.

I have several other 'synth' pedals like the EHX NYC Bass Micro Synth, Synth9, Mel9, Digitech BSW and Pigtronix Mothership 2 that offer fun options.

Nov 29, 2009 · There's also the Bass Synth Wah by Digitech that could be a one-pedal solution. My luck at mixing separate octave, fuzz and filters has not yet been satisfactory. You don't just pick any 3 and they magically work together. Might be wise to copy someone with a combination that gets te result you are after. Good luck in your quest.
