2021年10月24日 · Look up the coil in the factory service manual and it will tell you the values and you can test it with a multimeter. The black and white wire is switched power from a 15A fuse. The brown and white wires connect the coil and igniter to the resistor in the filter, which then connects to ground via a black wire. That's the coil ground.

2022年2月22日 · I’ve rewired the entire lighting harness. Has nothing to do with that. So I’m pretty sure it’s the ignition ballast resistor. I have not yet unwrapped the harness far enough yet to trace the wire. I will do that this w/e and confirm. If it is, I will probably replace it with a newer ballast.

2013年9月30日 · This swap is EASY, and does away with the older original points style distributor found in LJ 80/81's. I re-used the original LJ cap, rotor, coil with ballast resistor, and spark plug wires. I did not hook up the vaccum advance on the Samurai distributor, Smuz did hook it up to a port on the intake manifold, but Canadian LJ's do not have that port.
