Azazel is the main antagonist of season 1 and season 2, and is the only Prince of Hell so far to appear in more than one season. Azazel claims that only angels were capable of sending Dean back in time, however this is proven untrue in Time After Time as the god Chronos could take people through time with him as he did with Dean.

Nothing is known about Azazel's human life, however he was eventually chosen by Lucifer to become a Prince of Hell.
