The picture is noticeably sharper, but not by a gigantic amount and many games actively look better with a little blur or have tiny blemishes that are only visible on a 1 chip.

2024年1月5日 · Every Super Famicom (and SNES) except the Mini/Junior model can do composite and s-video and rgb right out of the box. The Mini/Junior can after some mod work. A good s-video cable is $15 and rgb at $30-40. The rgb is more colorful than s-video and much better than composite but every game doesn't necessarily look better/best with it.

Honestly, I think you are off in your assessment. The hit rates of the Super Famicom RPGs was higher than I expected. Games like Seiken Densetsu 3 and Fire Emblem 4 could be considered the best of their genre when compared to all western SNES games. And there are some games with some really creative premises like Live a Live and Dark Half.

The super Famicom originally has a slightly smaller cartridge slot that a super nintendo, but it's entirety cosmetic. You can use a dremel or pliers to make a super Famicom use any snes cartridge and it's the first mod I did. There's also adapters that let you use super nintendo cartridges without modifying if you want!
