Jul 9, 2007 · The 108-3 station wagon is the one to have, be sure it has ceconite covers and one of the three major brand finishes. They can set out side as well as any aluminum aircraft. the rule about rag and tube must have a barn, is simply an old wives tail from the days of dope and cotton.
Stinson 108 vs Piper Pacer PA-20 - Pilots of America
Oct 25, 2016 · I have a couple hundred hours in a metalized Stinson 108-3 with stock 165hp HC and a PA-22 many years ago. The Stinson is a decent airplane and will carry a good load. I flew it with four people and no bags several times and two and bags a few times. Slightly more room that PA-22/20 but slow. I'd hardly call it light on the controls.

Light Backcountry Plane - Pilots of America
Jul 2, 2013 · I'm looking into the possibility of getting a light backcountry plane. Just curious on everyone's thoughts on the Stinson 108's. I've seen a few of them with bush wheels and they seem to have a variety of engines depending on the one you find. Anything from the original Franklins (which came in a few flavors) to Lycomings and Continentals.

Oct 26, 2016 · No Tom, but I knew my 108-1 was a -1, and my Stinson mechanic, as well as I, can tell a -, -1, -2, or a ,3 from 50yards, knew about the popular STCs, like the super Stinson, which model has which engine rudder trim, etc. which is why I didn't state it fell under that AD, again, for the second time, re read that post I made.

Dec 23, 2022 · Citabria/decathalon. Possibly a RV6 with 600 tires (I think outrageous tundra tires are overrated, look cool…). 170 with a 180? Stinson 108 with a o-470? I could spend your money a thousand ways!! Welcome. Edit: Oh ya, the Ranger, I know one for sale, asking 130, never gonna get it, I’d offer 100 and see where it falls out.
