2020年6月19日 · Coverage circles assume the earth is a perfect sphere and coverage is determined purely by angle from the horizon, which is controllable by the nice slider. Email address is a bit of an experiment in how much spam I get by posting a (semi-disposable) email address publicly, but do feel free to email it.

Starlink puts an overlay on top of the areas they service, obscuring the map underneath. For your usecase I'd think the opposite would be advantageous. Slap an overlay on top of the oceans and countries that don't yet have service, we don't need the map to analyze their status.

2020年6月20日 · With a fuller deployment 53° inclination ought to be able to provide continuous coverage up to around 59.x-60° (IE likely Stockholm, possibly Oslo), though near the edge of coverage a lot of satellites must be in orbit to not to get occasional loss of signal.

2023年1月31日 · In August 2022, I used my Starlink for RV in Fremont, CA, and Lake Tahoe, CA without issue. When I just checked the official Starlink coverage map, it looks like the whole US West Coast is "Expanding in 2023", but several areas in CA were "Available Now" in 2022. Wondering why the map changed + if Starlink works in California right now.

2022年3月28日 · Starlink must have an extremely complicated computer model for optimizing throughput. It has to determine which satellite antenna should point where for each fraction of a millisecond. Obviously continuous coverage is a big concern, but from there it's possible to move a thousand different levers to optimize bandwidth utilization.

2023年4月25日 · There is no map anymore because it is "global". If you are asking like which part of the deep offshore Atlantic Ocean has coverage is all of it beyond the poles. I wish they still did have a map which showed how polar is polar for having connectivity problems as well as territorial waters not yet approved but they no longer have one.

2021年3月2日 · The time coverage numbers are not up-to-date. The map shows H3 cells not Starlink cells. Starlink cells are ~15 miles (25 km) across. It may well be, these times fall outside of your normal usage pattern, and you’ll never have a live issue. For 2 years we never had an issue. Then SL repositioned its mapping to a more westerly orientation. We then had a 1% obstruction map, and sub 1% time obstructed, but it manifested during the hours of 1pm and 4pm, in the westerly orientation.

It's not a map of coverage. It's a map of areas where full orders are available. In other words where shell 1 still has capacity. The next shell #4 does not provide sellable capacity yet. It also implies the dish production rate is high enough to deliver to all new customers in these areas within 1-3 weeks.
