Stanford Sierra Camp is a Stanford alumni family camp just outside South Lake Tahoe, nestled between the southern shore of Fallen Leaf Lake and the beautiful peaks of Desolation Wilderness. Each week for 13 weeks, 60 creative, diverse, and enthusiastic students work to ensure 60 Stanford families have the best 7 days of their year.

What is Stanford Sierra Camp? Stanford Sierra Camp is a family camp located on Fallen Leaf Lake near Desolation Wilderness in the Lake Tahoe Basin. During the summer, Stanford alumni and their families come up to Camp for one of 12 week-long sessions.

Location — Stanford Sierra Camp
Stanford Sierra Camp is located on the southern shore of beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake, about a four-hour drive from Stanford. A small strip of land separates Fallen Leaf Lake from southwest Lake Tahoe. Desolation Wilderness, a 100-square-mile federally-protected wilderness area with spectacular granite peaks and over 100 lakes, sits just beyond Camp.

History — Stanford Sierra Camp
Selling out since 1988 (and with a waitlist of over 300 families, each waiting about 4 years for a spot), Camp serves over 3,000 Stanford alumni, faculty, staff, their families and friends each summer. In 1998, the Stanford Alumni Association Board of Directors voted to merge with Stanford University.
