I don't know about what he shoots in his musket but in my H&P converted 1840 Springfield I shoot a close fitting soft ball out of an old Ideal .690 mold and push it with 78 grs of GOEX 2F. Lube is a soft mix of beeswax. Crisco, and olive oil.

2019年5月25日 · I've decided that to shoot smoothbore you need the right size ball, a way to keep them consistently sized and a powder that doesn't produce fouling. I control the ball size with the section of barrel. It takes 8 passes around the surface of my files to make the ball just fit a length of barrel. Every shot I fire gets gauged in this way.

To deal with the crack would the entire stock need to be replaced? 2. Or would it be possible to take it apart and use a high quality wood glue to join the stock together along the crack?
