2021年6月12日 · Small World is certainly head and shoulders above both Monopoly and Risk. Anyone that has been eliminated and had to go watch TV for an hour while everyone else finishes the game will understand why. Recently, I discovered History of the World (2018) which has most of the same mechanics as Small World, but IMO, done much better.

2019年11月21日 · So small world is an auction game masquerading as an area control game. As such there is an insane bias towards people who can recognize the synergies on the auction row. While there are some fun decisions to make on the board, the game is decided by the picks. There isn't that much counter picking either, just better vs worse pairings.

It seems many go this route with Small World because they don't feel they need everything for Small World and would rather invest more in games that are a little more complex.

2020年11月23日 · There was the original Small World, and then there was the standalone expansion Small World Underground that (unsurprisingly) seems to split people down the middle - either it adds needed depth, or it overly complicates a straightforward concept. (I never got to play Underground so I can't really weigh in on it.)
