2021年12月27日 · I prefer and own a Razor-Tune because it lays flat on the ski base all the way across the ski. Not a fan of the machine "hanging " off the edge with the side edge up. Both the Rhombus and the Razor-Tune lay across the base with the base facing up. Very solid! Shim plates are easy to change and if the wear they can easily be replaced.

2017年1月25日 · The biggest difference I seeis Swix you grind with the ski vertically. The base plate is flat to the ski and the motor is vertical above the edge. The RT you grind base flat, motor rides on base. I would think the RT would bemuch easier to use esp if you have to tune with no vise. The question with the RT isat the very beginning and end.

2023年2月16日 · So just discovered the Xcello Sports Cordless Ski/Snowboard Edge Tuner on Amazon priced at $249.95 and was curious if anyone knows anything about this sharpener as I cannot find anything online. On paper is sounds great, and I like the form factor, plus it is cordless .... but it also sounds too good to be true.

2022年6月22日 · The base bevel is registered off the ptex base. The base edge can not be effective "sharpened" without removing additional ptex via a stone grinding. Removing the high spots on the base edge from rock strike with a hand stone is very do-able. Sharpening, not really. One can always "sharpen" the base edge by increasing the existing base bevel.

2018年3月27日 · You can get a variable frequency drive to slow it down, but it'll cost as much as a powered dedicated edge sharpener. Besides the 6" disc probably doesn't follow the sidecut well. I'm in the same boat (too lazy to sharpen manually), and went with edgetune pro.

2018年3月4日 · It's more of a maintainer than a sharpener though, you can remove metal with a 100 grit diamond stone much quicker. For base edge deburr I've switched to a base edge guide with a fine ceramic stone, works better than stone flat on base IMO.
