Shreveport Downtown Airport (DTN) is a general aviation/reliever airport located five minutes away from the Shreveport Downtown Business District. Flights from the downtown airport began in 1929 with Delta Air Lines.

The Shreveport Airport Authority is charged with the operation and maintenance of Shreveport Downtown Airport, a general aviation airport, and Shreveport Regional Airport, a commercial small hub airport. Both airports serve the citizens of Shreveport and the surrounding region, including North Louisiana, East Texas, and Southwest Arkansas.
History of the Airport – SHREVEPORT REGIONAL AIRPORT
Shreveport Downtown Airport was the original air carrier airport in Shreveport, LA. Located northeast of Shreveport Regional and now known as Shreveport Downtown Airport, the facility’s history dates to 1929.

History - Shreveport Regional Airport
From 1931 until 1952, Shreveport Downtown Airport served as the community’s air carrier airport. Service was initially provided by Delta Air Lines, beginning in 1929 with Delta’s first route from Dallas to Shreveport and on to Monroe and Jackson, Miss.
