The brass bead sight on my mossberg blew off last weekend at the range, and I replaced it with a tru-dot bead sight. I tried my best to sand down the extra threads, but it protrudes slightly into the barrel (only the very smooth end of the screw). I do remember the factory bead sight also protruded slightly into the barrel.
