P90 vs p-rail - Seymour Duncan User Group Forums
2010年8月9日 · The P90 in the P-Rails IS a P90, but it is, of course, only one kind of P90. They're both Alnico 5, and the neck is a fat and round but with good bark and bite from the A5. The bridge is a little more aggressive and "overwound" sounding. If that's what you like about P90's then the P90 contained in the P-Rails can work for you.

P-Rails...is it supposed to sound like this?? - Seymour Duncan User ...
I like my P-Rails but you have to take it for what it is: A P-90 with some stuff added to it to make it more diverse. The series humbucker tone is a P90 with a rail to make a hot modern humbucker. It's gonna sound really thick and heavy and be best for high-gain fuzzed-out tones... I'm using the normal P-Rails as the only pickup in my SG.
P-Rails worth it as just a humbucker? - Seymour Duncan User …
2021年2月5日 · I have a set of P-Rails in Triple Shots in my Epi Elitist LP Custom. In the LP, series sounds mostly like a hot humbucker. Almost as hot as a Duncan Custom. Which I truly like. But if you play the series P-Rail back-to-back against a matched coil humbucker, you'll know there are some trade-offs being made in the P-Rails.
P-Rails wiring issues - Seymour Duncan User Group Forums
So not only is the polarity different, but the wires are different, too. See, if you just have one push pull (which is very common) we want the normal Seymour Duncan wiring to split the pickup to a P90. That's the first difference. Normally a Seymour Duncan would split to the "slug" coil, which in this case is represented as the Rails coils.
P-Rails vs. P-Rails HOT - Seymour Duncan User Group Forums
2017年11月13日 · Re: P-Rails vs. P-Rails HOT The P-90 is a better clean sound...more articulate, but still a very full and rich tone. Somewhere between a hummer and single coil, but retaining the best qualities of each.
SG / P-Rails Update - Seymour Duncan User Group Forums
2021年9月28日 · So I finally got the wiring to work, once I figured out the SD wiring diagram has the labels for the bridge and neck transposed. In humbucking modes, good humbucker growls. In rail mode, sweet, almost Strat-like single coil tones. In P-90 mode, yup P-90 sound, and a bit louder than the rail coils. The EQ graphs from SD
The new Hot P-Rails! - Seymour Duncan User Group Forums
2022年6月9日 · Seymour Duncan Announces the Hot P-Rails! If you like the original P-Rails, but wanted an even hotter versatile humbucker pickup, this is the one for you. Wound for maximum output; and combined with a pair of Alnico 8 bar magnets, this pickup is a versatile beast.
P-Rails Parallel resistance value? - Seymour Duncan User Group …
Hey all, I'm just troubleshooting my P-Rails/Triple Shots for individual coils and series, everything is A-OK compared to specs, however the resistance of the Parallel setting on both neck and bridge is way lower than the blade on it's own (this corresponds to what I hear as well).
Phat cat vs. P Rails - Seymour Duncan User Group Forums
2023年4月29日 · It's been years since I had my Phat Cats, and I'm getting ready to install my P-Rails. Speaking strictly of the P-90 side of the P-Rails, has anyone compared them? The specs are: Phat Cat (twin A2's): N: 7.98k, B: 8.49k P-Rails P-90 (twin A5's): N: 7.17k B: 10.14k I'm guessing, because of the A2's, that the Phat Cats might
